PSP IDs victim of early morning fatal crash on Pleasantville Mountain

State police in Bedford County have identified the victim of Wednesday's early morning fatal crash on the Pleasantville Mountain.

Investigators say 43-year-old Matthew Myers, of Johnstown, was killed when his vehicle crossed into the opposite lane of travel and struck a pickup truck head-on.

Police say Myers was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say the driver of the pickup truck, a 32-year-old Johnstown man, was transported to Conemaugh Hospital with suspected serious injuries.

Troopers say the crash occurred just after 6 a.m. and closed Route 56, otherwise known as Quaker Valley Road, for several hours.

Bedford County coroner Rusty Styer has confirmed that one person was killed early Wednesday morning in a two-vehicle crash near Pleasantville.

Officials say the crash closed Route 56, between Dunkard Hollow Road and Osman Road, for several hours.

The identity of the crash victim has not yet been released and authorities have not released any further details on the crash at this time.
