Authorities in Centre County are investigating the deaths of two inmates who reportedly passed away earlier this week.

According to officials, the first death occurred on Wednesday at the Centre County Correctional Facility after 46-year-old Larry David was found unresponsive in his cell.

Investigators say life-saving measures were conducted but were unsuccessful.

Officials say David has been incarcerated since April of 2021 and was awaiting trial on drug-related charges.

Authorities say the second death occurred on Thursday at SCI Rockview where 46-year-old Richard Woods was also found unresponsive in his cell.

Investigators say life-saving measures were administered and Woods was transported to Mount Nittany Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.

Officials note that Woods had been at SCI Rockview since 2003 and was serving a life sentence for a first-degree murder conviction out of Philadelphia County.

Both state police and the Centre County Coroner's office are investigating the deaths.
