Blair County, PA — Authorities in Blair County say a man was killed Sunday morning in a logging accident in Altoona.
Officials say 64-year-old Franklin Fink, who was reportedly employed as a harvester for Bonsell Logging, was killed after he was struck by a large tree branch.
Investigators say the incident occurred just before 9 a.m. Sunday along the 1700 block of Riggles Gap Road.
The Blair County coroner's office says Fink was pronounced dead at the scene just before 10 a.m.
Officials say Fink died as a result of blunt force trauma to his chest and abdominal area.
Authorities say the death investigation is still ongoing and an autopsy is scheduled for later this week.
