BLAIR COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — A New Paris man is facing charges after leading troopers on a high-speed car chase through Blair and Centre counties following a hit-and-run in Bedford County, according to a criminal complaint.
Troopers say they were pursuing 25-year-old Logan Kensinger on Interstate 99 Sunday as the vehicle he was driving weaved in and out of traffic at times exceeding 100 miles per hour.
According to state police, troopers deployed spike strips which Kensinger’s vehicle hit allowing troopers to catch up to him.
Troopers say Kensinger still wouldn’t stop though and eventually crashed into a State Police cruiser, disabling both vehicles.
Troopers say Kensinger smelled like alcohol and was unable to stand on his own as they took him into custody.
According to state police, Kensinger had been involved in a hit and run crash in Bedford County before fleeing northbound on I-99.
Troopers say a preliminary breath test showed Kensinger had a BAC of .201%
He’s been charged with DUI, reckless driving and fleeing from officers.
Kensinger is being held in the Centre County Prison.
