Man charged after crashing into CamTran bus stop, pulling knife, police say

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. - An Altoona man is facing several charges after police said he crashed into a CamTran shelter and pulled a knife on several people in Johnstown Sunday.

Jacob Kennedy, 23, has been charged with terroristic threats, simple assault and numerous traffic offenses.

Johnstown police said they were responding to a call about a reckless driver in the area of Ideal Markert on Walnut Street just before 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

Police said the driver, later identified as Kennedy, drove onto the sidewalk and crashed into a CamTran bus stop shelter.

According to police, Kennedy left the scene and stopped his car around the corner in an attempt to hide his license plate.

Witnesses tried to stop Kennedy, who then pulled a knife on them and threatened them, according to police.

Kennedy is in the Cambria County Prison on $30,000 bail.
