CENTRE COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — State police in Centre County are investigating after authorities say an explosive device was allegedly found near the Rush Township Supervisors Building earlier this week.
On Monday afternoon, officials say crews were conducting water line repair work when they discovered a "blasting cap" buried in the ground.
Police say it was determined that the device had been left behind when crews last repaired the water lines, which was "many years ago."
Troopers say the PSP Hazardous Device and Explosives team was called in to remove the device and properly dispose of it.
