
ALTOONA, Pa (WJAC) — Officials with the Altoona Area public library say that the facility will be temporarily closed after the ground floor suffered recent water damage.
Customers are asked not to return any rented materials at this time and due dates have been extended through Feb. 1, with no fines.
Staff says that the the Youth Room collection has also been transported off-site and will be temporarily unavailable.
"We want to thank everyone for the outpouring of support and concern during this crisis. I want the public to know that we are working with mitigation professionals to get the facility back to operational standards and will be posting regular updates about services on social media. You can still access our entire digital collection and databases on our website," says Jennifer Knisely, library executive director.
