Huntingdon Co., PA (WJAC) — State police in Huntingdon County say an Alexandria man is behind bars following an animal cruelty investigation from earlier this month.
Authorities say on April 6th, troopers received a report of animal cruelty that had reportedly occurred at an address along Valley View Circle, in Shirley Township.
Troopers say the caller stated that 26-year-old Zackery Faubert had been house sitting for her and had allegedly called to tell her that her cat had reportedly attacked her son.
Police say Faubert allegedly stated that he "beat the [expletive] out of her (the cat) and threw her outside."
"I'm pretty sure I [expletive] up her eye," he reportedly added.
Investigators say that when the woman returned home, she claimed that she could not find her cat, named Fluffy.
Police say the woman allegedly spotted Fluffy the next morning, but claimed that the cat would run away from her.
Troopers say the owner was eventually able to "catch" Fluffy, at which time she told investigators that she noticed that the cat had a swollen and black left eye.
Investigators say police photographed the cat's injuries, which also included swelling underneath its eye, and also located the broom that Faubert had allegedly used to beat the animal.
Police noted that the broom was bent.
Troopers say the owner took Fluffy to the vet, and told troopers that her left eye had to be removed.
According to online court records, Faubert was arraigned Friday on charges of aggravated cruelty to animals, animal cruelty and neglect of animals.
He is being held at the Huntingdon County Prison on $50,000 bail.
