Juniata County, PA — Authorities in Juniata County say 16 people were displaced Wednesday evening following an apartment fire in McAlisterville.
Officials with the Mifflintown Hose Company #1 say multiple area fire departments were dispatched to the blaze after 5 p.m.
Authorities say one person was transported to nearby Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital for evaluation.
Fire crews also rescued a Rottweiler from the second story of the building. The dog, named Karma, was taken to a nearby veterinary clinic and is expected to be okay.
Officials say crews were on scene until approximately 10:30 p.m.
Authorities say the Red Cross has been called in to assist and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
